Sena demands jobs for medal winners

JAMMU, Mar 14: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has said that cash award to the medal winning athletes under the Sports Policy in J&K is a good development.
In a press conference here today Shiv Sena J&K chief Manish Sahni said there has been a long pending demand for government jobs to the award winners.
He said, for the first time in J&K, a total of 368 medal winners at national and international level for the years 2021-22 and 2022-23 were honoured by J&K LG with special cash award.
The Shiv Sena leader said that there is a feeling of disappointment among some medal winners who were deprived of getting this award as due to some reasons they could not complete the required formalities on time.
“J&K Sports Council has the full list of medal winners and the amount of cash prize should be transferred to accounts of such winners without any discrimination,” he maintained appealing to the LG Manoj Sinha, also Chairman J&K Sports Council in this regard.
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli and organizer, Imran Sheikh were also present on this occasion.
