JAMMU, Mar 14: Police in Jammu District claimed today they have arrested an individual who was evading his arrest in a case for the past 12 years.
They said Sikandar Raj of Bakshi Nagar, Jammu was wanted in case FIR number 67/2012 under section 382 of the RPC registered at Police Station Nowabad.
An arrest warrant was also issued against the accused, police said, adding that acting on specific information, a team of Police Station Nowabad led by PSI Jeewan Kumar under the overall supervision of SP City North, DySP Headquarters Jammu and SHO Nowabad arrested the absconder today.
Later, he was produced before the court of law for further action in the matter, they said.
