JAMMU, Mar 15: Police in Jammu’s Bus Stand area claimed today that they have arrested an individual who was evading his arrest in a case registered 10 years back.
A police spokesperson said Mohammad Iqbal of Gundana, District Doda, was wanted in case FIR number 74/2024 Under Sections 4/5 of the Sapphire Act registered at Police Station Bus Stand.
An arrest warrant against the accused was also issued Under Section 512 of the CrPC, he said.
Acting on specific information today, he said, a team of Bus Stand Police Station led by SHO Bus Stand, Inspector Vikas Dogra under the supervision of SP City North Shivam Sidharth and SDPO City North Davinder Singh Bandhral traced out and arrested the absconder.
“Post arrest, the accused has been produced in the court of law for further proceedings,” said the spokesperson.
