JAMMU, Mar 17: Association of Industries (AoI) Gangyal, has expressed strong resentment over the eviction process initiated by the Industries department against the permanently registered and leased out premises by the SICOP and SIDCO.
In an emergency meeting of the Association of Industries held here today under the chairmanship of Tejwant Singh Reen, its president the members expressed serious concern over the J&K UT Government move to initiate eviction process for the leased out premises, both by SIDCO and SICOP of permanently registered industrial units, operating for the last four to five decades, but forced to close due to reasons beyond their control, including withdrawal of market support to the local units by Government.
The entrepreneurs were formally of the belief that such local units were in the forefront to establish their units, mostly in Micro/ Small sectors in the very first phase of Industrialization in J&K state. They warned that such unwarranted action shall only result into unwanted litigations. The Industrial bodies were of the opinion that the UT Government and particularly, Industry department should have taken them into confidence before initiating any such process.
They pleaded that the government must constitute a high powered committee to review and initiate revival/ rehabilitation process of such units. They sought the intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to stop such process.
The Association also sought the intervention of the Lt Governor, Chief Secretary and the Commissioner/ Secretary Industries and Commerce to ensure the immediate release of huge amount of nearly Rs 300 crores of material supplied to various Government Departments, the delay of which is bound to escalate the sickness amongst the impacted units.
Other senior members of the Association including – Sandeep Ohri, Pardeep Vaid, Ajay Mahajan, Vishal Gupta, Dheepak Dhawan (president Birpur Industries Association) and Sanjay Chopra from Digiana Industries Association were also present in the meeting.
