RAMBAN, Mar 17: Ramban Police has foiled a narcotics smuggling bid at Sangaldan in Gool area and arrested two persons with 600 grams of charas.
“A team of Police Post Sangaldan while conducting checking near the Police Post stopped two pedestrians and on search, recovered approximately 600 gram of charas from their possession,” a police spokesman said.
He said the accused persons identified as Mohd Farooq son of Abdual Aziz resident of Barakund (Sangaldan, Gool) and Mohd Hussian son of Jamal Din Sheikh resident of Bandan (Sangaldan, Gool) were arrested and the contraband seized.
“A case FIR Number 23/2024 under relevant provisions of NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Gool and further investigation of the case started to prove backward and forward linkages,” the spokesman added.
The arrest and recovery was made by a police team led by Incharge Police Post Sangaldan.
