JAMMU : A Pakistani inmate today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside the barrack in district jail Ambphalla in this winter capital of the State, police sources here said.
“Pak prisoner identified as Showkat Ali, (42), resident of Sialkote, Pakistan this morning during wee hours at around 0300 hrs hanged himself inside the jail premises and ended his life,” police sources here said.
They said he was lodged in the jail since 2011 under Foreigners Act and was arrested by the Police from Arnir Sector along Indo-Pak international border. “The matter is being investigated,” police said. However, more details are awaited. (AGENCIES)
