Cyber Crime team recovers Rs 3 lakh defrauded online

DODA, Mar 19: In a major success, Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) here today recovered over Rs. 3 lakh which was defrauded online.
Giving details Doda Police said that on February 13, 2024 a complaint was received by CCIU Doda through online from complainant Ajay Singh, son of Dhananter Singh, resident of Ward No. 7, Tondwah, Doda that he was cheated online of Rs. 85,000.
In another similar complaint received by CCIU Doda through off line mode on March 4, 2024 from one Sehdev Singh, resident of Hatli, Kathua, at present Doda, the complainant claimed a big online cheating of Rs. 2,15,220.
During investigation, the Cyber Investigation team led by PSI Ankush Nagra Incharge CCIU Doda after hectic efforts successfully recovered the defrauded amount of Rs. 3,00,220 which was cheated in both the complaints.
SSP Doda, Javaid Iqbal has appealed to the general public to be extra cautious and vigilant and don’t respond to unknown callers, fraudsters and report promptly the cheating cases to Police for taking all necessary measures well in time to track down online cheaters.
