SSIA resents eviction orders against registered units

JAMMU, Mar 19: Small Scale Industries Association (SSIA) Digiana, Jammu has expressed strong resentment against the launch of eviction process of permanently registered and leased out Micro/ Small industrial units by the Industries Department of J&K.
An urgent meeting was held here today to take serious note of move of the Industries Department of JKUT. The members present in the meeting raised serious concern over the recorded list which is not correct as number of units are functional but are declared non-functional. Some units have taken changes and some have applied for changes off line/ additional line/ change of constitution and so on. But their names are also included in the list. The units in the Industrial Estates are Micro/ Small and are run by the sons of the soil from beginning since 1960.
The Government has assured in black and white that sheds/ lands in Industrial Estate Digiana will be given to unit holders on hire purchase/ free hold after finalizing a process for that, but till date no such action in this regard has been taken. The unit holders are already paying the rent and maintenance charges for sheds.
The Association urged the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary to intervene into the matter and withdraw such order/ move and save the industry from further devastation.
