BSP leaders take stock of people’s problems

SAMBA, Feb 22: A team of BSP leaders headed by Ex-MLA and State general secretary, BSP, Som Nath, conducted two-day tour of remote hilly areas of Samba Constituency including Purmandal, Kund, Pacholi, Khori Khad and Ghair and took stock of the people’s problems.
During the tour the team, which also included members from party’s District Committee held various meetings at several places with different cross-sections of the society, who apprised the BSP leaders of their problems and burning demands.
The most burning demand, which was put forward by the people of various areas of the Constituency, was Tehsil status for Purmandal. The locals alleged that though the Ganai Committee and Balouria Commission had recommended grant of Tehsil status for Purmandal, yet the Cabinet Sub-Committee did not provide the same and embarrassed them completely.
At Pacholi, the villagers apprised the BSP leaders that they were not being paid wages under MGNREGA regularly. They also highlighted that they were not still paid full payment of relief for their damaged crops and other properties due to heavy monsoon rains.
At Khori Khad, the team observed that people were totally depending on agriculture and animal husbandry and deprived of basic amenities like road communication, water supply besides Anganwari and health centres.
The people of Ghair highlighted their demand of separate polling station and patwar status for Ghair, alleging that they have to travel four kilometers on foot at polling station Madana.
The people of Pring Nali demanded construction of road from Madana to Pring Nali upto Mega Nal while the people of Madana demanded blacktopping od road from Khadi to Sandi via Madana Solli Dhakki.
