Youth can give refreshing direction to political discourse: Rana

JAMMU, Feb 22: Provincial President National Conference  Devender Singh Rana on Saturday lauded the crucial role being played by youth in steering Jammu and Kashmir to new era of peace and development, saying their larger participation in public life will give a refreshing direction to political discourse.
Welcoming several prominent persons, mostly youngsters in National Conference at a function here this afternoon, Mr Rana said that the blend of experience and vigour of youthfulness has been core of Sher-e-Kashmir’s greatest political movement which has immensely helped in meeting the challenges with fortitude and resilience.
Mr Rana exhorted the new entrants to work for strengthening bonds of amity and brotherhood in various segments of the society, saying this has been the cherished mission of Baba-e-Quom, who always reposed trust and faith in the younger generation. He gave them an overview of the sacrifices made by the party to safeguard the distinct identity and singular entity of the State, a mix of different faiths and cultures. “Unity in diversity makes Jammu and Kashmir a unique State and this spirit has to be maintained at all costs”, he added.
The Provincial President also referred to initiatives of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in carving out vistas of opportunities for youth, as he believes in their empowerment in a big way. He also listed the achievements of the previous five years and said this mission will be carried forward with zeal and zest in coming years.
Speaking on the occasion, Surinder Singh Bunty said that youth are greatly inspired by the Chief Minister and want to lend their hand in steering Jammu and Kashmir to progress and development.
Present on the occasion were District President Jammu Urban Rajesh Bakshi, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, Mohammad Ayub Malik, Rakesh Chib, Farman Ali, Gurnam Singh, Mudasir Zargar, Waheed Kasana and others.
