KATHUA, Mar 21: Former Minister and ex-MP from Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary Constituency, Ch Lal Singh, who yesterday joined Congress party in New Delhi, was accorded rousing reception at the Jammu Airport and en-route Kathua at many places by a large number of Congress workers, his supporters and general public.
Ch Lal Singh, along with his wife- Kanta Andotra (ex- MLA) arrived here today by Indigo flight at 1.30 pm and was received at the Airport by senior Congress leaders, other functionaries and workers outside airport, who accorded a rousing reception to him as he came out in an open Jeep. The enthusiastic workers profusely garlanded him amidst raising of strong slogans in his favour and Congress party and the national leadership.
JKPCC working president, Raman Bhalla, senior vice president and chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, vice president and former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, Ved Mahajan, Vinod Sharma, Yash Pal Kundal, Pranab Shagotra, Shashi Sharma, Pawan Raina, Narinder Gupta, Narinder Sharma, Satish Sharma, DCC presidents, Th Manmohan Singh, Bhupinder Singh, heads of different organizations, prominent leaders and many workers were those present on the occasion.
From there, Lal Singh was taken in an open decorated Jeep along with his wife- Kanta Andotra. Enroute Kathua, he was received by groups of people at several places from Satwari, Bari Brahmana, Vijaypur, Samba, Ghagwal, Kootah, Hiranagar, Dyala Chak, Chadwal Morh, Rajbagh, Barnoti, Kalibari etc
The party workers and his supporters at these places garlanded the ex-MP and shouted slogans in his favour and the Congress Party. At many places even the party workers and Singh’s supporters had arrived with `dhols’ and were seen dancing and distributing sweets, while according him grand reception on his rejoining Congress Party.
From Kalibari, Ch Lal Singh along with wife, and other senior party leaders marched on-foot in the shape of a grand rally and covered entire town by covering nearly 4-5 km distance on- foot. He was accorded grand reception by the people of Kathua town as well and then he reached home at around 8 pm.
