Thief arrested; Rs 1,27,000, other valuables recovered

JAMMU, Feb 22: Police today arrested one thief and recovered a cash of Rs 1,27,000 and some other valuables from his possession.
According to police on February 19 a complaint was made in Police Station Bakshi Nagar that one Nazir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hassan of Lalpora Srinagar stating that he had parked his vehicle near Saraswati Mandir, Bakshi Nagar here and left for lunch.
In the complaint he said that after his return he found that some unknown person had broken the window pane of the vehicle and stolen away some cash and other valuable items for the vehicle which he had purchased from Delhi for marriage ceremony, police added.
Police said on the basis of the complaint a FIR No 23/2014 u/s Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
Police said during the investigation it arrested one Nazir Ahmed, son of Moman Khan of Hayma, Kupwara who was roaming in the Bus Stand and Bakshi Nagar area in suspicious circumstances and recovered Rs 1,27,000 cash, three suitcases, two bed sheets, one blanket, one Jewelry box, one makeup kit, 10 male and female suits, four foot wares, four lady handbags etc.
Nazir Khan who is driver by profession is driving vehicle No 7336-JK05B from Jammu to Srinagar.
Police said in second case,  SHO Janipur Hilal Azhar conducted a raid and recovered five bags of Government ration from one Naresh Kumar, son of Swami Ram of Upper Paloura, Jammu, Surjit Singh, son of Vir Singh of Upper Paloura, Jammu, Raj Kumar son of Ashwani Ram of Upper Paloura, Jammu who were carrying government ration from ration depot Paloura to Gujjar Mohalla Janipur for black marketing to earn illegitimate profit.
The police arrested the trio and  a case FIR No 40/2014 under Section 3/7 EC Act 409 /120-B-RPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and the investigation started.
