JAMMU, Feb 22: All Jammu and Kashmir Diploma Engineers Association has demanded that balance 66 posts of Assistant Engineers allotted to Diploma engineers for promotion be filled up shortly.
In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of Upinder Singh (president), the members discussed the issues of the cadre. Mr Singh clarified that against the 227 posts of Assistant Engineers allotted to Diploma engineers under career progression, only 159 Diploma engineers have been promoted. He demanded that pending 66 posts should also be filled up with Diploma engineers. He also appealed the Government to maintain cadre strength.
