College named on Pranab Mukherjee’s father

Kolkata, Feb 22: Sagardigi  Mahavidyalaya in Murshidabad district of West Bengal was renamed as  Kamda Kinkar Mukhopadyay Mahavidyalaya at a function in the college premises on Friday.
The college is now named after the late Shree Kamda Kinkar Mukhopadyay the father of  President of India    Pranab Mukherjee. Kamda Kinkar Mukhopadyaya was a  great educationist and social worker. The College is with best infrastructure and is affiliated to Kalyani University,
West Bengal, President Pranab Mukherjee, Governor West Bengal, M K Narayanan and Professor Rattan Lal Hangloo, Vice -Chancellor (originally from Kokernag Kashmir) were the special invitees in this function. Prof Hangloo was not only invited because the college falls under Kalyani University’s  Jurisdiction but also because Professor Hangloo is acknowledged  as one of the most dynamic Vice-Chancellors.
