JKAACL, Sahitya Akademi organise symposium on Dogri Poetry

JAMMU, Mar 22: Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) here today organized a symposium on Dogri poetry titled ‘Figure of Speech, Usage of Sentiments and Meter in Dogri Poetry’.
The event commenced with welcome address and introductory remarks by Mohan Singh, Convener Dogri Advisory Board at Sahitya Akademi.
Prof. Archana Kesar, distinguished Dogri writer, delivered keynote address.
Padma Shri Dr. Jitender Udhampuri, eminent Dogri writer, delivered the presidential address highlighting the cultural and literary significance of Dogri poetry.
The symposium featured two sessions chaired by eminent personalities in the field of Dogri literature.
The first session was chaired by Dr. Gian Singh, notable Dogri Writer and the papers were presented by Dr. Sarita Khajuria, focusing on Dogri poetry from 1980 to 1990 and Ashok Ambar, exploring the poetry of 1990s.
The second session was chaired by Puran Chander Sharma, prominent Dogri poet. Prakash Premi presented his analysis of Dogri poetry from 2000 to 2010, while Raaj Manawari delved into the poetry from 2010 to 2020.
