Kashmir Highway reopens, only stranded vehicles allowed

SRINAGAR : Traffic on National Highway,  connecting the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, resumed this morning after remaining suspended yesterday due to snowfall and land slides.
However, only stranded vehicles were allowed to proceed towards their respective destinations since this morning, a traffic police official said, adding that no vehicle would be allowed from Srinagar or Jammu.
Highway was closed yesterday due to snowfall at Jawahar Tunnel and Banihal.
There were also land slides at Panthal yesterday.The snow and land slides were cleared by Border Roads Organisation (BRO). (AGENCIES)
