Samba police arrests 2 bovine smugglers

SAMBA, Mar 22: Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba police has foiled bovine smuggling attempt, arrested two bovine smugglers, rescued four bovines and seized vehicle in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
A police team of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Tapyal, intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing Registration Number JK19A-3027 coming from Kathua side for checking. During checking four bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.
The bovine smugglers identified as Barket Ali, son of Gulam Hyder of Kokernag Kandiwala district Anantnag at present Nagrota Jammu and Mohammad Ibrahim, son of Hashim Din of Gujrada tehsil Pongal district Ramban have been arrested and the vehicle used for illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 33/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
