Theft case worked out: Police

JAMMU, Mar 22: Police in Pacca Danga area here today claimed they have solved a theft case within 24 hours.
A police spokesperson said on March 21, 2024, a written complaint was lodged by one Ravinder Kumar son of Hans Raj of Ram Nagar, Udhampur at present Lane number 07, New Plot Jammu, regarding theft of his scooty.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 29/2024 under section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga Jammu and investigation started.
During investigation, the police spokesperson further said that a team constituted by SP City North Shivam Siddharth led by SHO concerned Inspector Rakesh Singh and assisted by incharge Police Post Rehari SI Muzaffer Hussain Shah under the supervision of SDPO North Devinder Singh Bandral rounded up a suspect identified as Aurif Ahmad of Anantnag at present Sidhra, who confessed to his involvement in the crime during sustained questioning.
On the disclosure of the accused, the stolen scooty was recovered by the police team, added the police spokesperson.
