4 long-time absconders arrested

SRINAGAR, Mar 24: Police in Baramulla have arrested four long-time absconders who had been evading arrest for decades.
As per police, the individuals were wanted in cases registered under FIR numbers 296/1998, 25/2014, 16/2011, and 67/2022 at Police Stations Pattan, Chandoosa, Sheeri, and Kunzer respectively.
Warrants under Section 512 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) were issued by the Court of 1st Additional Sessions Judge Baramulla, JMIC Tangmarg, and Sub Judge JMIC Baramulla, pending with Police Stations Kunzer, Chandoosa, and Sheeri against the accused persons.
The arrested individuals include Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Mohd Rafiq Khatan, Mohd Yousuf Sheikh, and Babar Bashir Pala, police said.
These individuals, who had been on the run for several decades, were apprehended by a special police team under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla, SDPO Tangmarg and Kreeri, and consisting of SHO PS Kunzer, SHO PS Chandoosa, and SHO PS Sheeri, among others.
Subsequently, the arrested individuals were presented before the Court of Law for further legal proceedings, police said.
