RAMBAN, Feb 23: One person was killed in landslide near Battery Chasma area of the district.
As per reports, a truck bearing registration number of JK14A-4827 on its way to Jammu from Srinagar was trapped in a landslide near Battery Chasma late this evening.
Police, Red Cross volunteers and Quick Rescue Teams rushed to the spot and recovered the body of one of the occupant of the truck, who has been identified as Uttam Singh, son of Sham Singh of Akhnoor.
The body has been shifted to district hospital Ramban and after conducting postmortem, the body will be handed over to family members for last rites tomorrow.
However, the rescue operation was still going on, when last reports complied.
