NC leader concerned over power cuts during Ramadan

BANIHAL, Mar 26: NC district Ramban president, Sajjad Shaheen has expressed serious concern over the precarious power situation in Banihal and its adjoining areas during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said that unscheduled power cuts particularly during Sehri and Iftaar time has increased public sufferings.
Shaheen during a daylong tour to remote villages like Pogal, Panchal, Nowra in Ukharhal said every household cannot afford inverters for power backups and the people are using candles to beat the dark during power cuts.
“It is very unfortunate that the government could not provide uninterrupted power supply even during Ramadan month,” he maintained further highlighting the issues of water crisis, poor condition of roads etc.
Shaheen demanded proper power and water supply in the area along with the adequate supply of ration, sugar, kerosene oil and LPG during the holy month of Ramadan.
The NC leader was accompanied by zonal vice president, Riyaz Ahmed Mir; block presidents-Nisar Ahmed Sohil, Shakib Ur Rehman Runyal, Imtiyaz Ahmed Mughal and Bahar Ahmed Naik; Mohd. Azam Sohil, Abdul Wahid Lohar, Zahoor Ahmed Lone, Master Abdul Rasheed and others.
