JAMMU, Mar 29: Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, President, J&K BJP Minority Morcha today alleged that Congress is responsible for the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and now is misleading Sikhs by giving them hollow assurances.
Nalwa, who is also the UT In-charge of ‘Sikh Sampark’ programme of the party was addressing a meeting of his community members here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Nalwa said, “It’s only BJP which is a pro-Sikh party and which has done a lot for our community in the past 10 years of NDA rule in the country.”
“Many people ask me why I have joined BJP. I tell them all that the PM Modi’s pro-Sikh policies have hugely attracted him towards the party,” he said and added that the Modi-led government had given a lot of respect to the community.
He also gave a reference of a paper prepared by Congress after partition in 1947 in which Sikhs were portrayed in a wrong and highly objectionable manner.
“A vote for PM Modi means a vote for the development of the country,” he said.
