JAMMU, Feb 24: A girl allegedly committed suicide, while one another made an abortive attempt to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance at their respective residences.
As per reports, 28-year-old Anuradha, daughter of Tirth Ram of Patli Morh, Bari Brahmana, consumed some poisonous substance at her residence yesterday.
Finding her unconscious, family members rushed her to private hospital, where she failed to respond to the treatment and breathed her last.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after conducting postmortem at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
A case has been registered at Bari Brahmana police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Sonika, daughter of Dharminder Kumar of New Plot made an abortive attempt to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence.
Family members shifted her to Government Hospital Sarwal, from where she was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where her condition was stated to be out of danger, when last reports came in.
Police has taken the cognizance in this regard.
