SABLO sends representation on various issues to SASB, Govt

JAMMU, Mar 31: The Annual General Body meeting of Shri Amarnath Barfani Langars Organisation (SABLO) was held at Ambala in Haryana under the chairmanship of Rajan Gupta its president.
H K Chugh, general secretary read the welcome address. Various Bhandara organisations from Punjab Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, UT of Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan etc attended the meeting.
H.K Chugh informed all the members that a series of representations on various important issues have been given to Officials of SASB, officers of UT of Jammu and Kashmir and Central Government etc which included issuance of offer inviting letters for rendering Bhandara services to some of our Member Bhandara Organisations to whom the same has not yet been issued without assigning any issue.
The other issues included formulation and implementation of policy on detaining the Bhandaras on rotational basis method instead of discriminatory basis, condition of police verification of Sewadars of Bhandaras should be withdrawn, giving night shelter to Yatris in Bhandaras without any restrictions, power supply at various camps should be provided on entire traditional route of Chandanwari – Sheshnag – Panjtarni – holy cave, increase in the number of Sevadars from 65 to 100, construction of Sarais/Dharamshalas for providing night shelter to Yatris on base camps of Baltal , Domail and Panchtarni etc as per the provisions of Act 2000 or alternatively allotment of land to SABLO for achievement of this purpose.
It also demanded simplification of compulsory health certificate of yatris, insurance cover of rupees five lakh for each and every Sevadar, food menu to be revised, health and other necessary services be improved, inclusion of representatives of Langar organisation in various committees formed by Shrine Board for better arrangements for yatris, special security and safety arrangements in case of cloud burst and floods, taking steps for increasing the number of yatris from 10,000 to 12,500, Igloo huts and concrete bunkers provision for storage of Bhandara items, Improvement in Yatra Marg with provision of toilets and bathrooms, separate one way tracks for yatries on foot, ponies, pack ponies and at Palkis, digital map boards with site number at various camps should be installed, exploitation of yatri’s by pony wala, Pithoos and various agencies should be stopped, improvement in the communication system on the twin Yatra Marg etc.
The meeting was informed that representations on these issues have been sent to President, Prime Minister, Home Minister of India, LG of UT, CEO, Additional CEO, Deputy CEO and others on the various problems faced by langar organisations and Yatris .
