Aash Foundation to name scholarship after Mehak

JAMMU, Mar 31: The Aash Foundation (regd.) held a meeting at Press Club Jammu today in which a resolution was passed to raise the ‘Mahek Fund’ that shall grant scholarship to the deserving meritorious girl child belonging to underprivileged families.
Mahek, a young girl, passed away in Canada on March 7, this year along with her parents Rajiv Warikoo and Shilpa Kotha in a devastating fire in their house at Toronto, Canada. The Foundation members while expressing their grief over the tragedy said Mahek’s appeasing qualities of head and heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mahek was an inspiration to all her friends, relatives, and acquaintances.
“Though her time with us was cut short, the memories she left behind will continue to bring a smile to our faces. We will remember Mahek who was a potential football player and an ace athlete, for her overall conviction that brought laughter and warmth to the hearts of many people living in India, Canada, and the UK”, the meeting said. It said the rasing of Fund on her name will be a great tribute to this talented girl. Prof B L Zutshi president Hindu Educational Society Kashmir (HESK) and Dr Rattan Dhar were among other members who attended the meeting.
