No whereabouts of main accused in class 8th student gang-rape case

JAMMU, Feb 25: Despite lapse of over four days, police has failed to arrest the main accused in the gang-rape case of class 8th student in Nomian area of holy town Katra.
As reported, a class 8th student was allegedly kidnapped and raped by four persons in the Nomian area of the holy town Katra on February 20.
The accused kidnapped the girl in an auto when she was returning home from school and raped her after taking her to a secluded spot.
They had fled the spot after committing the offence, leaving the victim in an unconscious state.
After regaining consciousness, the girl narrated the incident to her parents, who lodged a complaint against four persons, identified as Karan Chand of Udhampur, Ashwami Kumar of Saran, Varinder Singh of Nomian and Parkash Chand of Nelia at police station Katra.
Police team from Katra police station arrested two accused, who have been identified as Karan Chand of Udhampur and Parkash Chand of Nelia along with vehicle, used in the offence on February 22.
A case under FIR number 45/14 under Sections 376, 366 and 109 RPC stands registered at Katra police station and manhunt was launched to arrest the main accused identified as Ashwami Kumar of Saran and Varinder Singh of Nomian.
However, police has failed to trace the whereabouts of the main accused in the gang-rape case despite lapse of over four days.
