Arrangements for Chhari Yatra to Purmandal finalized

JAMMU, Apr 2: Arrangements for 30th “Chhari Mubark Yatra” to Purmandal Shrines on Chetar-Chaturdashi falling on April 4, 2024, were finalized during a joint meeting of various religious and social organizations, here today.
The joint meeting was attended by representatives of Purmandal Utterbehni Shrines Development Committee, Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust, Dharmarth Trust, Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K and heads of different Mandir committees and representatives of the administration, under the chairmanship of Th Gulchain Singh Charak, at Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Complex Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
After thread bare discussions, various decisions were taken to make proper arrangement for the transport for the devotees, drinking water and electricity facilities en-route and 3 days congregation at Purmandal, cleanliness in Devika and around the temples at Purmandal and Utterbehni, proper arrangement of wash rooms at the bank of Devika, maintenance of law and order, repairs of damaged spots on the road leading to the shrines etc.
The meet decided that nodal officer Ranjit Singh, Disstt Panchayat Officer Samba will co-ordinate with all the concerned departments for the proper arrangements during the Yatra and three days programme in which large number of devotees are expected to participate at the historical Shrines of Purmandal and Utterbehni.
Special Chhari Pooja will be performed on April 6 at 5 PM at Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Jammu by the Dharmartha Trust while on 7th of April, the holy Chhari Yatra will be taken out from Ranbireshwar Mandir by the Mahatmas led by Mahatma Rishi Ban at 07:00 AM sharp.
The holy mace will reach at Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Gandhi Nagar where a grand Pooja will be performed and after that the Chharis will be taken in a procession to Purmandal shrines via Mahadev Mandir Gandhi Nagar, Shiv Mandir Trikuta Nagar, Shiv Mandir Greater Kailash, Shri Narsing Dev Mandir and Data Ranpat Dev Mandir Birpur. Special reception will be organized by the Muslim and Sikh brethren led by Haji Bhashir Ahmed Malik and Khatab Hussain at Kharah Madana. The holy mace will finally reach Purmandal shrines and after special pooja at Shiv Temple Purmandal, it will be kept in the Mandir complex for darshan of general public.
