JAMMU, Apr 2: Former Minister and senior BJP leader Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar has urged the Jammu and Kashmir UT administration to allocate funds for the construction of an underwater fence at Baba Talab Gura Singh in the Marh constituency.
This appeal stems from the need to preserve the water bodies within the pond, a site where people from various religious backgrounds congregate to worship the deity.
Kumar emphasized the importance of safeguarding the pond’s water bodies, citing instances where the life of fish was endangered due to children swimming in the pond.
He noted that last year, a significant number of fish died as devotees also bathed in the pond. The proposed underwater fence, according to Kumar, would prevent fish from exiting the pond through grills, ensuring their safety.
In addition to his environmental concerns, Kumar called upon citizens to actively participate in voting, asserting that the current national sentiment strongly favors the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He touted the Modi government’s ten-year report card, highlighting achievements such as the provision of housing under the PM Awas Yojana, distribution of free ration to over 80 crore people, and the construction of over 12 crore toilets for below poverty line individuals.
Kumar lauded the Modi Government’s policies for bringing about significant improvements in the lives of the common populace, including the provision of medical cover to over 60 crore people under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. He credited the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A for fostering peace, prosperity, and progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing confidence in the BJP’s electoral prospects, Kumar predicted a decisive victory in the upcoming Parliamentary elections, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm.
DDC member Marh Balbir Lal, Mandal President BJP Vikramjeet Manhas, and various community leaders among others were present on the occasion.
