DGP sanctions special welfare relief

JAMMU, Apr 4: The Director General of Police (DGP) has sanctioned a special welfare relief of Rs 2.06 crore to the dependents/legal heirs of the brave police personnel who passed away while in service.
As per a statement, a special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each was sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased DySP Harvinder Singh, HC Surinder Singh, HC Raja Habibulla, HC Zahoor Ahmad Bakshi, SgCTs Sageer Ahmad, Subash Singh and Mohammad Abadh and follower Habibullah who have passed away while in service.
The DGP has also sanctioned special relief of Rs 6 lakh in favour of dependents/legal heirs of the deceased SPO Ranjit Kumar who passed away during his engagement with the department, it said.
The statement further said that Rs one lakh each has been already paid to the NoK of the deceased personnel and Rs 50000 to the NoK of the SPOs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ.
Besides, an immediate relief of Rs one lakh has also been sanctioned in favour of dependents/ legal heirs of the deceased SI (TeI) Mohammad Shafi Malik who passed away while in service.
