JAMMU, Apr 4: Jammu and Kashmir has surpassed last year’s achievements in Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) Scheme of the Union Ministry of MSME.
During the financial year 2023-24, MSME DFO Jammu organized 28 ESDPs, 7 Management Development Programmes (MDPs) and 30 Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) benefitting 3762 participants covering all the districts of J&K compared to 822 participants benefited in the 5 ESDPs, 3 MDPs and 17 EAPs organized in the financial year 2022-23 in few districts of the Union Territory.
These achievements were made possible under the guidance of G Velladurai, IEDS, Joint Director and through the dedicated work of Rajesh Kumar, IEDS, Assistant Director, managing the training Section of MSME DFO Jammu.
The MSME DFO Jammu, a field office of Union Ministry of MSME implements various schemes and activities for the benefit of MSMEs in J&K (Jammu and Kashmir). One such scheme is ESDP Scheme under which unemployed youth are motivated and trained in various skill developments essential for self-employment. To implement this activity MSME DFO Jammu organizes various types of training programmes in all the districts of Jammu & Kashmir.
These training programmes help to acquire, improve the skill in various fields, Procurement methods, understand modern production techniques without affecting the quality when their production increase exponentially, various marketing techniques including e-marketing, modern packaging techniques, banking avenues available to them, information about various schemes available with Union Ministry of MSME & Industries Department, benefits of Public Procurement Policy 2012, benefits of delayed payments for MSEs, how to register their enterprise with Udyam portal, etc.
These training programs are of duration varying from 1 day to 30 days. The topics covered during the ESDP programme are Digital Marketing, Information Technology, E-Commerce, Fashion Designing, Soft Toys Manufacturing, Paper Mache (Decorative Items Manufacturing) food processing & packaging and Computer Hardware, Networking & Maintenance etc.
