Panel framed to monitor progress of various social welfare schemes

JAMMU, Apr 4: Government today constituted a Principal Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department-led panel to monitor the progress of various schemes of social welfare in Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department as the head of the panel, Administrative Secretary, Planning Development and Monitoring Department, representative from Finance Department (not below the rank of Additional Secretary), any other member as may be co-opted by the Committee shall be the members of the committee and Administrative Secretary, Social Welfare Department, shall be the Member Secretary.
The committee so constituted shall regularly monitor/review the stated/laid down targets for effective implementation of Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, PM Jan Vikas Karyakram (Minority), and PM Ajay (for SCs).
It would also identify the bottlenecks in the implementation of the schemes and suggest measures for timely resolution. It would also ensure coordination amongst various departments/stakeholders for better implementation of schemes.
The committee shall submit a monthly progress report to the office of Chief Secretary, J&K, ordered the Government.
