Samba police foils 2 bovine smuggling bids, rescues 36 animals

SAMBA, Apr 4:Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba police has foiled two major bovine smuggling attempts late last night in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Bari Brahmana and Police Station (PS) Samba, arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 36 bovines.
A police party of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana headed by SHO, Bari Brahmana during vehicle checking at Naka Balole bridge Bari Brahmana, intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number UP12T-6057 coming from Jammu side for its checking. During checking of the vehicle, 22 bovines were found laden inside it which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The bovine smuggler identified as Mustkim, son of Abdul Wahid of Mahank Mau district Saharanpur (UP) has been arrested.
A case FIR No.45/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
Likewise, a police party of Police Post (PP) Goran headed by Incharge PP Goran has successfully foiled another major bovine smuggling attempt, arrested bovine smuggler and rescued 14 bovines which were being smuggled by foot via Dhaki Khad area.
The arrested bovine smuggler has been identified as Altaf Hussian, son of Haji Yousaf of Surara district Samba.
A case FIR No.88/2024 U/S 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
