30 MLAs move Privilege Motion against DC Udhampur

JAMMU, Feb 26: Thirty MLAs have moved Privilege Motion against Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal.
The MLAs in their privilege Motion said that the DC Udhampur has made a breach of privilege as alleged by MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia in the House recently saying that the DC used foul and un Parliamentary language against the MLAs and utters disrespectful words against them.
In their Privilege Motion the MLAs said that the DC Udhampur reportedly said that she does not consider MLAs as true representatives of the people as they have been voted by only 25 percent of the electorate while 75 percent people are against them.
In their Privilege Motion the MLAs said that she was not honouring the demands and priorities of MLAs and would rather take decision on various issues as deemed fit to her. They said that Mankotia also pointed out that she often ignores and disregards the demands projected by him and dishonours his written as well as verbal pleas. She has reportedly misbehaved with MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia number of times in past, they added in their Privilege Motion.
The MLAs said that similar complaints were made by MLA Chenani, Krishan Chander Bhagat in the Assembly and MLA Bhagat fully supported the statement made by Mankotia. The MLAs while expressing serious reservation against the conduct of DC have sought initiation of privilege proceedings against her for her contemptuous behaviour.
Raising the issue in the Assembly, Mankotia informed the Speaker that 30 MLAs have moved Privilege Motion against the DC Udhampur and Speaker asked him to handover the same to him for initiating action.
