Srinagar, Apr 5: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (Bhim) today announced its participation in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Addressing a press conference here, Hakikat Singh, State General Secretary of the JKNPP, informed about the developments in this regard, including the acquisition of the ‘Table’ as the party symbol.
“The Election Commission of India (ECI) has granted approval for the party to be named ‘Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party Bhim.’ Furthermore, the ECI has allocated ‘TABLE’ as the party symbol for the forthcoming Parliamentary elections,” he said.
However, he mentioned that the symbol of a cycle, previously associated with the party, will be determined post the parliamentary elections, pending a decision on a petition before the ECI.
Singh declared that the party is set to contest all five Lok Sabha seats in J&K for the 2024 elections.
“Nomination filings have already been completed, with Balwan Singh and Naresh Chib representing the party from Udhampur and Jammu Parliamentary constituencies, respectively,” he stated.
Additionally, Singh himself will contest from Srinagar, while Farooq Ahmed Dar and Peerzada Mudassir Ahmed Shah will represent the party from Anantnag and Kupwara Parliamentary constituencies, respectively.
Expressing concerns over biased treatment by the J&K Administration regarding security cover for party officials and candidates, Singh urged the ECI to take immediate action to ensure free and fair elections.
He appealed to the citizens of J&K to exercise their voting rights enthusiastically, emphasizing the importance of their participation in making this election historic.
Singh reaffirmed the party’s commitment to continue the mission of its late founder, Professor Bhim Singh, centered on the principles of justice and righteousness.
