REASI, Feb 26: Sainik Welfare Department (SWD), Udhampur, organized a meeting-cum-awareness programme for the ex-servicemen and Veer Naris, here today.
The meeting was organized by Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO), Udhampur, Major (retd) UK Sharma along with his team of officials under the aegis of Brigadier (retd) RS Langeh, Director, Sainik Welfare Department.
A large number of ex-servicemen and Veer Naris from far flung areas participated in the meeting-cum-awareness programme, where ZSWO Udhampur interacted and apprised them of various welfare schemes and concessions including grant of dual fanily pensions from military as well as civil employment, refund of outstanding Army Group Insurance and medical benefit scheme.
He also educated them of other schemes like endorsement of family pension in respect of living pensioners, financial assistance to non-pensioner ex-servicemen or widows for treatment of serious diseases, one rank one pension, daughter marriage grant and PM’s scholarship scheme.
Meanwhile, all routine documents work like renewal of identity cards, CSD cards, annual identification of World War II veteran and J&K Militia personnel besides filling of various financial assistance forms was done on the spot by SWD staff.
