Migrants for issuing ration coupons as per previous practice

JAMMU, Apr 6: Kashmiri migrants have expressed grave resentment against the recent Government order under which they will have to receive their ration for year 2024-25 on monthly coupons basis.
Taking a dig at the Government order Kashmiri Migrants Welfare Movement chief, Sunil Pandita said that migrants have been receiving their free ration on a slip book issued on yearly basis and they get their ration by producing the same slip at the designated Government ration depots at ease and according to their convenience but the recent order of the Government has put them in a great problem.
He casted a doubt on the intentions of bureaucracy and said the migrants totally disagree with the new order regarding the issuance of monthly ration which include 9kg rice,2kg flour per head besides 1kg sugar per family for a period of one month. Now they have to visit every month to their respective zones to collect their monthly ration coupons and then have approach ration depots for collection of the ration which will further added to their complications already faced by them.
He in an appeal has urged the authorities to revoke the monthly coupons based recent order with immediate effect and issue ration slip books for one year at an earliest or by the end of this month as per the earlier practice.
Meanwhile, a joint delegation of various KP bodies called Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner and demanded that the order be revoked and the coupons be issued as per previous routine. M K Yogi, senior KP leader, Chuni Lal Kandi a socio political activist, Chand JI Bhat president BJP, Sundri Lal Kaul representative relief holders and others called on RRC, Dr Arvind Karwani here and urged him that the order be revoked. Later they told media persons that RRC in principle has agreed that the coupons will be issued as per previous routine.
