Dr Karwani releases Navreh song, Saptrishi 5100 Calendar

JAMMU, Apr 7: Dr Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) released Navreh song written by noted poet and writer, Kanwal Peshin in an impressive religio-cultural event, organised by Athrot Foundation at Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Bohri, here, today.
The Navreh song has been sung by Sunita Bhan, while the music has been composed by Ravi Dhar, Music Director and it has been recorded at Vitasta Music Studio.
On the occasion, Saptrishi 5100 year Calendar, published by Dr Manmohan Jyotishi Research Foundation, was distributed among the audience by Swami Kumar Ji, a well known religious preacher of Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi, MK Yogi, a senior KP leader and social activist and Shanti Lal Sidha, a renowned vocalist.
The event started with Sharda Vandana by Kanwal Peshin followed by ‘Henzey Vanvun’ by the team of ladies from Jagti led by Chandra Dhar.
A musical presentation by budding artists mesmerized one and all. Suhas Koul, Lavanya Koul, Nirmit Raina and Pranav Pandita sang Bhajans on the occasion.
The VIPs were honoured with typical Kashmiri ‘Kenzi Khoass’. Award of appreciation for preserving of culture was presented to Chandra Dhar, Sushma Pandita, Kiran, Fancy Koul, Meenakshi Handoo, Angly Suri, Suhas Koul, Lavanya Koul, Nirmit Raina and Pranav Pandita.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Dr Karwani said that Athrot is doing a commendable work in serving the society and preserving culture. He advised all to preserve and promote mother tongue.
“The time is ripe to preserve and promote culture. The best way to preserve culture is to promote the mother tongue, which is rich in all respects,” Dr Karwani maintained.
Special guests MK Yogi, Shanti Lal Sidha and Swami Kumar Ji said youth need to be promoted and encouraged in preserving culture.
The vote of thanks was presented by RK Pandita, Director Athrot.
