4 gamblers arrested in Baramulla

Srinagar, Apr 7: Police in Baramulla today apprehended four individuals involved in gambling and confiscated stake money and playing cards from their possession.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards near Kuta Morh, Pattan, a police team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) Pattan, under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Pattan, conducted a raid at the designated location.
During the operation, four gamblers were apprehended, and authorities seized stake money amounting to Rs 5300 along with playing cards from their possession.
The individuals arrested have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Darzi, son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Pattan; Hilal Ahmad Sofi, also known as Pinna, son of Noor Din, a resident of Sofi Mohalla Pattan; Bashir Ahmad Gojri, son of Abdul Gaffar, a resident of Jamia Mohalla Pattan; and Zahoor Ahmad Sofi, also known as DC, son of Mohd Rajab, a resident of Pattan.
“Following their apprehension, they have been taken into custody at PS Pattan. Subsequently, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law and further investigation is underway,” stated the police.
