YAIKS holds 2 days Sammelan

JAMMU, Apr 8: To discuss a way forward for Kashmiri Pandits under the present political scenario in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) organized two days Margdarshan Sammelan here in Jammu in which different stalwarts, community leaders, opinion makers and prominent citizens participated. The programme was presided over by the President of YAIKS, R K Bhat.
Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner, Dr. Arvind Karwani was the chief guest on the occasion while Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Lal Hangloo, former Vice Chancellor Allahabad University, Prof. A. N Sadhu well known scholar and Pran Pandit (retd) SSP were the guests of honour. Those prominent Kashmiri Pandit leaders, who participated includes C L Bhat, B L Jalali, Kuldeep Pandita, Ashok Dhar, Sundari Lal, M K Yogi, M K.Bangroo senior journalist B L.Bhat (ex-MLC), Ruban Saproo, DN Sadhu and others.
R K Bhat, President YAIKS in his address said, It is high time for Indian nation led by PM, Narendra Modi , all the political parties and power corridors to come forward for the rescue of displaced Kashmiri Pandits and to rehabilitate them back to their land of origin ‘Kashmir Valley’ by taking concrete steps rather than lip sympathy and false assurances. The Government of India should come up with a comprehensive return and rehabilitation plan for the displaced community of Kashmiri Pandits to resettle them back in their motherland, he added.
The convention resolved by voice vote that the election in the community be held for the nomination of two Assembly seats reserved for Kashmir migrants in the State Assembly, so that the democratic process is maintained and grass root leadership can emerge.
The chief guest Dr Arvind Karwani said that the genuine issues raised in the seminar will be recommended to the higher authorities for its redressal.
The guest of honours said YAIKS is the grass root level organisation and working for the community with full zeal and commitment. They extended unconditional support to YAIKS leadership.
The welcome address was delivered by YAIKS Advisor B L Dhar and vote of thanks was presented by Rohi Dhar. The stage was managed by Vimal Raina.
