SHOPIAN, Apr 9: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today visited various areas to take stock of facilities and arrangements being set up there with regard to the upcoming Eid-ul-fitr celebrations in the district.
The DC visited Asar-i-Sharief Pinjoora, Jamia Masjid, Shopian and Eidgah Shopian among other areas and interacted with Management Committees there and took appraisal of Eid Arrangements.
He instructed officers of line departments especially MC, RDD to take up sanitation drives and ensure cleanliness around major Masjids, and shrines.
Arrangements for water, power supplies and traffic management in the town were also discussed and directions were given to provide all services to devotees during the Eid Day.
He also inspected special market outlets of departments of Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries departments set up in order to provide livestock, poultry and fish to the populace.
The DC on the occasion also directed for intense market-checking of major areas for keeping close check on market operations especially ensuring safe and affordable sale of commodities to the consumers.
ACR, ACD, EO, MC and senior officers from concerned departments accompanied the DC during the tour.
