JAMMU, Apr 10: Denouncing the uncalled for outburst of PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti about pain of Kashmiri Pandits; former MLC and JK UT spokesperson of BJP, Girdhari Lal Raina (GLR) has asked her to stop protecting the identity of tormentors of minority Hindu community of Kashmir. It is clear that Mehbooba Mufti and all other Kashmir centric political parties do not want real culprits and assassins of minority community to be identified, prosecuted and punished, he added.
Talking to reporters here today along with BJP KDD president, Chand Ji Bhat, Raina asked peace loving people of Jammu Kashmir to ponder over this statement of the former Chief Minister of J&K. She visibly had visited a bereaved family to condole the death of a person. It was a sombre occasion and not anytime to play politics, said Raina. Yet she chose to use the occasion to play politics reflecting moral and political expiration.
People understand that Mehbooba must have been disturbed by the news of a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits meeting Home Minister, Amit Shah in New Delhi and hence this uncalled for and unfortunate statement, Raina explained.
Similarly talking about the why of the statement, Raina stressed that the fear of identification of tormentors, oppressors and assassins of minority community that ultimately led to their extirpation from Kashmir is haunting these political leaders and parties alike. They are scared that the investigations started post 2019 and recommendation of Truth Commission by Justice (retd.)Sanjay Kishan Koul of Supreme Court may reach at their door steps, hence the leaders like Mehbooba are in a great desperation, former MLC added further.
He said that a smoke screen was created to hide the truth. These people wanted nobody to know about the background and reasons behind forced displacement of the minority Hindu community of Kashmir. These people desired to let victims die a death of ignominy and wished for the extinction of a civilization. But that cannot be allowed. Even invading barbarians of the medieval period desired so. But truth has a habit of resurfacing prevailing even under unfavourable circumstances.
Raina cautioned people of Bharat against such opportunist political organisations.
