SRINAGAR, Apr 10: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across Jammu and Kashmir and thousands of worshippers gathered for Eid prayers at Masjids and prayer grounds.

The Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar witnessed the largest congregation, followed by Chrar-e-Sharief in Budgam, Dar-ul-uloom Raheemiyyah Bandipora and various Eidgahs in different districts.

Dressed in traditional attire, thousands of people flocked to the Hazratbal from early morning and offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. They were later seen greeting each other.
The administration had made meticulous arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of prayers and comfort and safety of the worshippers. Adequate security measures were in place to maintain a peaceful environment.
The Eid prayers concluded on a peaceful note, further reinforcing the spirit of harmony and unity.
Former Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti offered prayers at the shrine.
