Zangtrai celebrated with great fervor, enthusiasm by various socio-religious organisations

JAMMU, Apr 11: Zangtrai a festival of Kashmiri Pandit community falling on third Navreh -the Hindu new year was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety by the Kashmir Pandit community today.
In this connection functions were organized by different places in which a large number of women folk participated.
Magnanimous Zangtrai function was organized at K. P Sabha premises here today. The day marks the respect for womanhood, an embodiment Jagat Amba.
Dr. Samita Bhat , Consultant, Gynae-Oncology, State Cancer Institute, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion while the function was presided over by K. K. Khosa, president of K.P Sabha. The hymns in the praise of Ganesh and Goddess Durga were recited by acclaimed and renowned Kashmiri Vocalist Dr. Deepali Wattal who enthralled the audience.
President K P Sabha, K. K. Khosa welcomed the gathering, especially Kashmiri women and desired for greater and responsible role of community women folk in transforming the community into a model society. He stressed on the responsibility of Kashmiri women folk in preserving the Kashmiri culture and language by way of imbibing the practice of conversing in Kashmiri language with younger generation at home.
Dr. Samita Bhat, enlightened the women on the religious significance of Zang Tri and appealed for active participation in the programmes organized by Sabha from time to time. She also explained the significance of Zangtrai Festival.
Others who graced the occasion were T. N. Bhat, Ashok Braroo Deepak Dhar, Ashwani Koul, S. L. Bagati, G. J. Kampasi, Ashok Kher, Rajinder Tiku, Asha Kitchloo, Jitender Parimoo, V. K. Bakshi, Satish Khoda, V K. Mukhi, B. B. Bhat.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Sujata Sathoo and Dr. Usha Tickoo presented the vote of thanks.
Zangtrai, was also observed at the Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udheywala, Bohri, here, today.
Dr.Sushil Kumar Wattal read the welcome address. Principal and Session Judge, Kalpana Revoo was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme started with offering flowers to BhagawaanJi which was followed by Guru Vandana.
The chief guest was honoured on the occasion by the president and secretary of Bhagawaan Gopinathji Trust. Hundreds of ladies participated in the function and paid obeisance at the lotus feet of the Master. Artists of repute Vijay Ji, Deepali Wattal, Shanti Lal Sidh, R.K. Saproo, Ravi Bhan, Darmesh Nargotra, Naina Saproo, Veerji Bhat and others presented melodious devotional songs on this occasion. Dr.Sushil Kumar Wattal also conducted the proceedings.
The functions were also observed at the other Ashrams / Centres of the Trust viz :Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi; Vikaspuri, West Delhi, Kharyar Srinagar, Kashmir, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and at various other Santsang Mandals spread across the country.
A grand function on the occasion of Zangtrai was organised by Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra at Anand Nagar Bohri in which a large number of women participated. The function was presided over by A K Trakroo, Prant Karaivah, RSS while Anita Sharma, Mahila Samanvy Parmukh was the chief guest. The stage was managed by Nirmala Ji and vote of thanks was proposed by Shoki Lidhoo.
Another function as organised by Tirath Raj Kapal Mochan Shrine and Temples and Rama Krishan Mission Shiksha Kendra district Shopian at Sanskriti Bhawan Pt Radha Krishan Ganjoo Memorial Trust, Roop Nagar here in which large number of women folk participated. Bhajan Kirtan was also arranged on the occasion and speakers threw light on the significance of the day.
On the occasion of Zangtrai an annual Hawan was organized by Teerath Raj Nagbal Sidhi Lakshmi Peeth Lokbhawan Trust at Sidhlaxmi Peeth temple Sector 2, Durga Nagar in which a large number of devotees participated and paid obeisance to the Mata Rani on the occasion.
Zangtrai was also celebrated at Sharika Peeth Sanstha Subash Nagar with great fervour. A large number of women participated in the function which was presided over by the president of the Sanstha, M K Jalali.
To celebrate Zangtrai an impressive, colourful and well attended function was organised by the Managing Committee of Mata Bhadrakali Asthapan Trust, Wadipora, at its newly constructed Thalwal, Jammu Asthapan. The participants paid obeisance at the lotus feet of Mata.
