JAMMU, Feb 28: There is no end to the woes of the National Youth Corps (NYCs) from the State, who have been sitting on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to press the Government for their permanent absorption in their concerned departments against the available vacancies.
According to a release issued by All J&K National Youth Corps (JKNYC), three NYC youths sitting on hunger strike were hospitalized today in critical condition.
The NYCs hunger strike today entered 12th day with their condition deteriorating but Government does not seem to be in mood of extending any favour to the protesting NYCs.
The State president of the Association, Asif Ali Bhat, said time and again we present our genuine demands in front of the Government in a democratic way but get nothing except verbal assurances.
We are educated youth and our selection was purely made on merit basis still we are facing the apathy of the Government, he said and questioned if the Government had no perfect policy for us then why it engaged them and pushed their future towards darkness.
The use and throw policy of Government hanged us in mid way between Center and State, which has forced us to go on hunger strike, and now we are in do or die situation as the Government is playing with our future, Bhat added.
Pertinent to mention here that NYC youths are demanding their permanent absorption on available vacancies in their respective departments, convertion of their monthly honorarium into salary and clearing all pending dues.
