KISHTWAR, Apr 11: Police here today seized Rs 5 lakh cash and arrested a person in this regard.
As per police sources, the cash was seized during a routine checking at Paarna-Chingam in Chatroo by SHO Police Station Chatroo, Inspector Vikram Singh who was assisted by PSI Pintu Raina under the direct supervision of SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom.

Following the directives of the Election Commission of India, individuals are reminded that carrying more than Rs. 50,000 in cash is prohibited during electoral period to ensure fairness and impartiality of upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The cash was recovered from Mohd Ashraf Reshi, son of Abdul Aziz Reshi, a resident of Deller Chatroo.
He was travelling from Gadool, Anantnag in a vehicle of Tavera make bearing registration number JK02AV 1937 and was arrested.
The seized cash was promptly handed over to the Election Flying Squad Team in Chatroo in strict compliance with the established protocols and procedures.
