Sikh Unity Forum calls on Taj Mohi-ud-Din

JAMMU, June 27: A delegation of All J&K Sikh Unity Forum comprising of convenor, S Rajinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gurdeep Singh and Harjeet Singh called on PHE and Flood Control and Irrigation Minister, Taj Mohi-ud-Din at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar and apprised him about the problems of Sikh refugees living in Simbal camp.
They told the Minister about the sufferings of the people of Simbal camp due to poor water and power supply. They apprised him that as the Simbal camp lies near the bank of the river Tawi, there is always a threat to their lives in the monsoon season when water overflows and strikes the camp area.
After listening to their problems, the Minister on spot sanctioned a hand pump and a voltage stabilizer for the residents of Simbal camp. He also assured to mitigate their other grievances regarding flood protection.
