‘Cong to implement Old Pension Scheme’

JAMMU, Apr 17: JKPCC working president and Congress contesting candidate from Jammu- Reasi seat Raman Bhalla today said that even though the BJP has released its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, it will not be able to fulfill the assurances given since the party will be ousted from power as their earlier guarantees of two crore jobs to youth annually and doubling the income of farmers have proved a hoax.
Addressing election gatherings in RS Pura South Constituency Dharap, Laliyal, Gangyal, West Constituency in Toph, Bahu Constituency Gandhi Nagar and Raipur Domana Bhadrore in North, Bhalla said that BJP will be ousted by the people this time. It will surely face debacle in J&K and Ladakh.
He said that the BJP had scope to implement assurances given during the last two Lok Sabha elections, but they failed. He said the question of whether or not the BJP will meet its assurances given in the manifesto will not arise as people will vote against the party. He further asked the BJP to give a list of the beneficiaries if it has met assurances given during the last two Lok Sabha elections. Farmers’ incomes have not been doubled in the last 10 years. BJP had brought anti-farmers laws and had to withdraw them after more than 700 farmers lost their lives.
By raising these issues, the BJP is running away from promises it made to people (in 2014/2019),” Bhalla said.
JKPCC leader said the BJP had made 455 promises in 2014 but reneged on them. He reeled out the list: “It had promised to bring back Rs 80 lakh crore worth black money stashed abroad and credit Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s bank accounts. Not even 50 paise has been brought back, and instead we got notebandhi (demonetisation). It took money away from people and made the country stand in queues…business of small traders was ruined. BJP promised farmers 1.5 times higher prices for produce. But actually, farmers are realising prices that are half of what they used to get during Congress reign.”
Bhalla maintained that BJP also failed to keep the prices of gas, petrol and diesel low. He trashed the BJP Lok Sabha poll manifesto as a “Jumla Patra’ full of rhetoric, claiming that Modi’s guarantee is a “Warranty of Jumlas” as he has failed to fulfill the promises made in the past. He also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not fulfilling promises made on the issue of jobs, doubling of farmers’ incomes and tackling price rise and inflation, and alleged that he was now shifting the goalposts by talking about 2047 instead.
Prominent among those present on the occasion include general secretaries Amrit Bali, TS Tony, District president Manmohan Singh, Pawan Bhagat secretary PCC , Gurmeet Singh Block president, Sanjeev Katal, Sarpanche Kashmira Singh, Rajinder Singh Jamwal, Balkrishan Bittu Choudhary, Mangat Ram and others.
