JAMMU, June 27: Police today arrested a constable of Security wing for threatening and beating up two civilians and snatching their mobile telephone and cash at village Krimchi in Udhampur district few days back.
Police identified the arrested constable as Mohammad Rafiq son of Ghulam Rasool Gujjar R/o Chakher, Udhampur, a police constable presently posted in Security wing, Jammu.
Police said Rafiq has snatched mobile telephone and Rs 1500 cash from two civilians identified as Suraj Din son of Miran Baksh Gujjar R/o Krimchi and Hussain son of Mohammad Aslam R/o Udhampur.
Both the civilians were on way to Krimchi when the cop had intercepted them and snatched mobile telephone and cash from them.
Additional SP Udhampur Benam Tosh said a case against the police constable has been registered under Sections 341/323/382 RPC.
