JAMMU, Apr 17: Today on 4th day of Fire Service Week, flag march of hi-tech and advanced fire fighting vehicles was carried out throughout the cities of Jammu and Srinagar simultaneously which started from respective Fire & Emergency Headquarters and marched through the main cities.
These vehicles fitted with PA system conveyed the preparedness of the Department for safeguarding life and property of general masses. First Aid fire safety tips, Do’s and Don’ts were also conveyed to the general public through the awareness rally.
After declaring open the Fire Service Week from 14th to 20th April by Alok Kumar (ADGP) at Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) Headquarters Jammu on Commemoration Day, a number of programmes are being conducted by the Department.
Earlier on 2nd day of the Fire Service Week i.e. 15th of April a large scale free medical first aid camps were held at both Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) and (Batamaloo) Srinagar Headquarters in which a number of doctors of different specializations provided free medical check-ups to Fire & Emergency Services Personnel as well as general public besides distributing free medicines.
On 3rd day of the week i.e. 16th of April, under the FIT INDIA programme, a number of inter-district departmental sports events were held at Bari Brahamana (Jammu) and Batamaloo (Srinagar) besides organizing Yoga events at all District Headquarters of the Union Territory.
