JAMMU, Mar 2: Police today arrested a person along with 10 litres of illicit liquor (lahan) from Kotian Balanda area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bishnah police station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Bishnah police station headed by SHO Narinder Singh conducted a raid in the house of Baldev Raj alias Raju, son of Kalu Ram, a resident of Kotian Balanda.
Police recovered 10 litres of illicit liquor and destroyed the same, he said, adding that the accused Baldev Raj tried to escape from the spot but was nabbed by the police team.
A case under FIR number 34/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Bishnah and investigation started.
